Mark Cullum has many years of expedition experience behind him, Borneo, Africa, Central and South America, Mongolia, Northern Scandinavia, the South Pacific to name just a few. A leading fire-fighter at home in the UK and an instructor in off road driving recovery, power boating, rescue and survival – Mark is married with 2 children.

Harry Rouse, Base manager
Nationality: British

15 years experience of expeditions to 70 countries. Has trekked solo to Everest Base Camp: scaled Speak Glacier in Ruanzori Mountains. Uganda: negotiated Zambezi River white water rapids by kayak: survided a charge by Silver Back Gorillas in Zaire, and walked barefoot for 3 days in Himalayas during a trek to Kathmandu. One of the first westerners to visit Lhasa (1986) and enter Southern Tibet. Qualified mechanical engineer, airplane and helicopter pilot.

Steve Brooks, Expedition Leader
Nationality: British

Graham Stratford, Project Manager & co-pilot
Nationality: British

Otherwise known as Project Spice for his ability to take on a problem and crack it. Graham Stratford has a long list of abilities to his name. A current member of Longtown Mountain Rescue Team and a Mountain Rescue Council Casualty Care certificate holder will all count as great experinece in overseeing the medical situation of the team. Considerable outward bound experience as a canoeing instructor, sailing instructor, rescue boat coxwain, mountaineer, offroad driving, climbing and skiing experience will make Graham a very dependable member

Quentin Smith (“Q”) Helicopter Pilot
Nationality: British

Q Started flying at the tender age of five and has never looked down. His Flying career has included many firsts, not least, the first drive fly a piston helicopter round the world on two separate occasions. He also won the world freestyle helicopter championships in Moscow, which only goes partway to showing his incredible understanding of aviation.

Rupert Wilbraham,  Logistics Officer Russia
Nationality: English

9 years experience as logistics officer for British film/TV productions and expeditions to Russia. Deep knowledge of frozen North Siberia. Led expedition (1989) to discover abandoned WWII Focke-Wulf 190 lying in Russian Forest. Qualified airplane and helicopter pilot.

Joanna Vestey, Photographer
Nationality: British

Award winning photographer Joanna Vestey is based in the UK. Her photographic work is reportage based and has taken her to places such as Ethiopia, Calcutta and Gaza. She is currently working for The Last Great Journey in association with Katz Pictures to cover this Expedition. Her clients have included many international newspapers and magazines as well as charities and human rights groups.
