This is the hardest part of an expedition. In the climbing world they call it summit fever, all the work has been done and the team is ready to leave. The weather is beautiful but the wind is still a strong southerly wind which is driving the pack ice onto the shoreline creating a treachorous quick sand effect that is moving at 3 miles an hour. Our fear is that the machine would be sucked under by the huge force of nature. The forecast talks of a wind shift which we must patiently wait for.
