Now just a day away from beginning the expedition, the team and all the equipment have arrived here in Nome – well known for being the finish line of the Iditarod dog race where teams travel some 1000 miles along a trail in one of the ultimate endurance races.

The team are now working on last minute preparations for the trip, Snowbird and its vast aluminium screws arrived by Hercules from Ancourage and are now being expertly reassembled by Steve, Graham, Mark and Harry.

Q is busy working on helicopter preparations and permissions while the documentary team are sourcing skidoos to follow Snowbird along the trail. The team must travel 150 miles over fairly unforgiving terrain before reaching Wales where they will set up camp before making their bid to be the first to drive over the frozen Bering Straits.
